Its programs also allow Pennsylvanians to get financial assistance based on incomes, which can help lower premiums and cost of care. If you apply by yourself, please ensure you complete everything truthfully and accurately, as the financial assistance you get is a tax subsidy. If you end the year with greater income than you estimated on Pennie’s application, you may owe significant amounts in taxes when you file.
